19th Annual Cheeca Lodge
Presidential Sailfish Tournament
January 17 – 20, 2008

We hope you are ready for the 19th annual Presidential Sailfish Tournament hosted by Cheeca Lodge. We are planning a great tournament, and while we said last year we’d make it one of the most memorable tournaments, we are planning to top it in 2008.

While catching the most sailfish is the greatest thrill of the event, there will be lots of fun, as well. Once again, we’ll have a terrific angler bag — I think you will be particularly pleased this year. The social events will feature great entertainment, and, of course, delicious food.

Take a look at the 2007 tournament, just as a reminder to last year’s phenomenal event. There is a list of winners, as well as some great photographs from the tournament.

As things progress, we will update the site to make sure you are up-to-speed on the tournament details, so please check back now-and-again. However, below is the schedule of events…

• Most Tagged Fish: Angler, Captain and Mate

The Presidential Sailfish Tournament is once again part of the Florida Keys Gold Cup Sailfish Championship and the World Billfish Series. The Gold Cup Championship is a series of three light tackle tournaments held in Islamorada. This series includes the Islamorada Sailfish Tournament, The Cheeca Lodge Tournament and the Islamorada Fishing Club’s January Sailfish Tournament.

Anglers may compete in any or all of the tournaments. However, those who wish to participate in the Gold Cup series must participate in all three tournaments. To do so, please give us advance notice with the intent to participate in all three tournaments, and pay the appropriate entry fees.
