Water Sports at Our Florida Beach Resort…

From snorkeling, sailing and kayaking to fishing and windsurfing, Cheeca Lodge, a Florida Beach Resort, has it all. To make reservations, or to learn more about the water sports listed below, call the Beach Pavilion at 305-664-4651 ext. 4451.

Snorkeling
Imaging swimming in the most crowded tropical fish tank you’ve ever seen! Explore North America’s only living, natural coral reef with Cheeca Watersports and experience a fun-filled journey the entire family will enjoy. Beginners and experienced snokelers alike will enjoy the smooth and stable ride. Explore North America’s only living natural coral reef. Cheeca’s two-and-a-half hour excursions include water and nonalcoholic beverages.

Windsurfing
Cheeca Watersports offers beginning windsurfing gear. Instruction is available for everyone. Advance reservations are required.

Environmental Boat Trips
Let Cheeca’s local captains take you back in Florida Keys history as you explore Indian Key, Lignum Vitae Key, or Everglades National Park. This tour is a great introduction to the complex ecosystems that make the Florida Bay thrive, and lasts approximately 2 hours.

Private Boat Excursions
Cheeca offers a wide variety of private, captained boat trips for your family or group. Cape Sable, Flamingo, Everglades National Park, backcountry, and family fishing trips are available. Minimum duration is three hours, and a maximum is a full day on the water.

Sailboats
Easy and fun to sail, Hobie Waves have redefined Beach Cat sailing. With as little as one hour of instruction, you can solo your own Wave right from the Cheeca beach. Great for one to four people. Lessons are available for $50 per hour and require advance reservations.

Kayaks
You’ll be amazed at how much you see as you silently glide along the beach in your own kayak. We have the newest and most stable one- and two-passenger kayaks from Ocean Kayak. Bring a camera and a cooler!

Sunset Celebration
It’s a Florida Keys tradition. Cheeca Watersports’ two-hour sunset tour lets you enjoy the sunset as it should be seen – from the water. Includes complimentary beer, wine, and sodas. Call the Beach Pavilion for specific times, as they vary seasonally.
